Blue Cheese Burger

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef

  • 1 cup Statesboro Blue Cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley

  • 8 hamburger buns

  • Lettuce, and red onion slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using an outdoor grill, oil the grates to prevent sticking.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, half of Statesboro Blue Cheese (1/2 cup), parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and form them into patties, creating a small dimple in the center of each.

  3. Grill the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until medium-rare. In the last minute of cooking, add some of the remaining Statesboro Blue Cheese on top of each patty.

  4. Remove the patties and let them rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, toast the buns on the grill until they are lightly golden.

  5. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, and then a patty. Stack another patty on top, followed by onion slices and any additional toppings you prefer. Place the top bun on and press slightly to secure.
